OMP: Warning
« on: February 20, 2011, 01:13:04 pm »
Dear all,

we get with TM6.2 64bit, AMD-Opteron and SuSE 11.4 (upgraded from 11.0) from
aoforce:

 CONSTRUCTING G(a,i)[S(k,l)xi]              -> RHS
              G(i,j)[S(k,l)xi]*S(i,j)chi    -> Hessian

Maximum core memory set to          200 MB
This corresponds to          36 vectors in CAO basis
OMP: Warning #2: Cannot open message catalog "libguide.cat":
OMP: System error #2: No such file or directory
OMP: Hint: Check NLSPATH environment variable, its value is "(null)".
OMP: Hint: Check LANG environment variable, its value is "de_DE.UTF-8".
OMP: Info #3: Default messages will be used.

After that the programme seems to hang. Anyone ever seen that?

best regards
 r

Hi,

Is the OMP_NUM_THREADS environment variable set when you run the job? If it is, maybe unsetting it would help? Unlike dscf and ricc2, aoforce does not support OpenMP (at least not in the public 6.2 release).

Terve Antti,

no it is not set as it seems. Currently I get these warnings with every TM6.2 job I run. ...

Hei,

Sounds strange. Maybe it's better to contact Turbomole support, especially if the jobs won't complete.

Dear all,

I also meet with the problem tht was posted by resofidentity.

I also  run TM6.2 in 64 bit AMD-Opteron, Redhat system, the same warning:

OMP: Warning #2: Cannot open message catalog "libguide.cat":
OMP: System error #2: No such file or directory
OMP: Hint: Check NLSPATH environment variable, its value is "(null)".
OMP: Hint: Check LANG environment variable, its value is "zh_CN.UTF-8".
OMP: Info #3: Default messages will be used.

How to tackle this problem. Great thanks!

Hi,

I'd like to second Antti: Did you set OMP_NUM_THREADS or not? If yes: unset it! In Turbomole version 6.2 aoforce was not parallelized!

Uwe

Hello, uwe,

Appreciated to your rapid reply.  In my .bashrc, the OMP_NUM_THREADS was not set. My computer has two AMD CPU with 24 cores.

Hello,

then please send the input of that run to the Turbomole support so that they can check if this still happens with a newer version.

But perhaps the error message is a bit misleading and has nothing to do with OpenMP. Did you check your memory limits? See here:

Thanks all, I have tackled this problem. It is due to the language of my System. Now I set the language to English, now everything is ok. Acutally ,as uwe said, this problem has nothing to do with openMPI.
